Recycle Glass Challenge at Art281 -- Cash Award & Prizes!

The San Antonio Glass Art Guild invites its’ members to enter a recycled glass art challenge. Artists must be active members of the SAGAG. Entries must be handmade glass functional craft, art, or jewelry made with a minimum of 80% recycled glass.

Art281 Call For Artists

The mission of ART281 is to provide a one day venue for artists and art organizations to come together to display, promote and sell their art work directly to the public. In order to ensure the integrity of the show ART281 has adopted guidelines for artists, organizations, performers, and vendors.

Vendor Application

This application is to be used by individual artists and craftsman who intend to make there work available to the public for sale. All items must be handmade by the Vendor.

Volunteer Opportunities

**  Next meeting will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012  **

 

Starting in January

  1. Volunteer Coordinator
    This person will be in charge of forming a small committee to recruit and organize the volunteers needed for the event. This includes any entertainment such as the dancer, musicians that play during the event. The volunteer coordinator will need to attend the monthly meetings. Estimated time commitment 80 hours.

  2. Vendor Recruitment Coordinator
    This person will be in charge of forming a small committee to recruit and organize vendors to participate in Art281. The vendor coordinator will need to attend the monthly meetings. Estimated time commitment 80 hours.

  3. Publicity Coordinator
    This person will be in charge of forming a small committee to identify media sources to be used to publicize the event, contacting media, writing copy, etc. The publicity coordinator will need to attend the monthly meetings. Estimated time commitment 80 hours.

  4. Vendor Jury
    The vendor jury will view and determine the artist products to be juried into the show. They will be responsible for notifying the artists and coordinating site placement at the event, coordinating vendor lunch/tee shirts/etc. Need 3 volunteers. Estimated hours per volunteer is 30.

  5. Committee Members
    Members needed for all the above committees. Hours will vary depending on job within the committees. Consider a minimum of 8 hours.

Valerie Larson-Lohr will serve as the overall ART281 Coordinator and as Treasurer. There will be monthly meetings from January through August. In September meeting will be held every other week. All meetings will be held at 13467 Wetmore, in the Downtown Wetmore shopping center. This is just north of Thousand Oaks on Wetmore. Meetings will be the 4th Tuesday of each month from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

We need members to volunteer if we want to keep this event going. So don’t hesitate… Don’t forget these hours qualify for the SAGAG Scholarship volunteer hours.
